Norristown Ministries, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation chartered in April 1983 for the purpose of promoting and developing the spiritual, physical, and mental welfare of the disadvantaged, underprivileged or otherwise needy citizens of the Borough of Norristown and its environs.

Our main mission since January 1992 has been the special needs of Norristown's daytime homeless, focused in the Hospitality Center and Soup Kitchen ministries. The Hospitality Center provides a wide range of services. One of the benefits of the Hospitality Center is the efficiency it provides. Prior to the Hospitality Center, individuals and families in crisis would go to one church after another for assistance in their times of need. Now all the congregations of the area can send them to a centralized location for crisis management and referral to available church, community, and Montgomery County services and resources.

The facility is a day shelter for men, women and children in Norristown, Pennsylvania. The shelter’s day center works diligently at preventing repeat cases of homelessness by offering living skills and educational courses through funding local donations and grants. These courses are a way to motivate individuals to become independent and productive members of the community. Services of the day facility include, but are not limited to, a full needs assessment by counseling staff, counseling services, a referral service, a living skills program, job counseling and assistance, shower facilities, clothing, personal hygiene items, and other needed services. The referral service acts as a homeless clearing house of information for public and private agencies assisting the homeless. The day shelter program operates from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. daily and 1 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday and Saturday.
